Kirstin Dougan

Assistant Professor of Library Administration and Music User Services Coordinator

BM (viola performance), Lawrence University; MM (viola performance), Ball State University; MA (library studies), University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Kirstin Dougan came to UIUC in 2007 and is in charge of reference, instruction, and outreach for the Music Library. Her duties include managing the reference desk, creating library instruction sessions for the School of Music and the Dance Department, and developing the Library's media collection. She is a member of the Music Library Association (national and Midwest chapter). Her research interests focus on the tools of music libraries, including music library journal literature, databases, and subject guides. She has had articles published in Music Reference Services Quarterly. In addition, she reviews books for MLA's Notes.

Prior to joining the UIUC Music Library she was Interim Head (2005-2007) and Public Services Librarian (2004-2007) at Duke University's Music Library and a Digital Projects Librarian at University of Wisconsin-Madison (2001-2004).
