The Assistant Director for Operations and his staff handle all non-personnel business affairs for the School of Music. Mr. Redman’s duties include management and administration of business practices, budget and financial transactions including the monthly accounting of revenue and expenditures. He additionally coordinates use and maintenance of School of Music facilities and equipment, information technologies operations and security.
Prior to joining the administration of the UI School of Music in August 2008, Mr. Redman was the Associate House Manager at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and an instructor of trombone in the Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program.
Mr. Redman holds a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from Juilliard. His performance career has included engagements with Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Long Island Philharmonic, Spoleto Festival Orchestra and Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira.
