Rex D. Anderson

Coordinator of Audio and Video Services

B.S. (audio engineering), University of Illinois

Rex manages all aspects of the daily operations of the Audio Department including scheduling of events, archiving and documentation of recordings, invoicing clients for work performed, and all communication (email, voice mail, telephone and personal contact). He is responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of one full-time and four part-time staff members. Rex engineers recordings for faculty, ensembles and students of the School of Music. He also designs and implements sound reinforcement systems for concert productions, and interprets the requests of clients for amplification of sound in many different acoustic venues for School of Music performances. In addition, he is responsible for the allocation of equipment for production, inventory control and maintenance of existing equipment and requisitioning of new equipment; compact disc production, real time cassette duplication and digital audio tape (DAT) clones as per the requests of all School of Music faculty and students; and providing video tape recordings of production of the School of Music Opera Program and School of Music faculty, ensembles and students at their request.
